Actor's Workshop: Mastering the Craft

About the Class
This Actor's Workshop is designed for students who are passionate about acting and eager to refine their craft using professional techniques practiced in New York City and Los Angeles. Drawing on the influential methods of Uta Hagen and Michael Shurtleff, students will engage in exercises that emphasize truthful emotional responses, physicality, and character immersion. Students will explore the challenges of being directed, learning to take feedback and make adjustments in real time. This hands-on approach will not only build confidence but also prepare students for the dynamic and collaborative nature of the industry. The course will culminate in a final presentation, where students will showcase their growth through carefully selected scenes and monologues, demonstrating their ability to apply the skills and techniques they have learned.
Advanced Improv and Interactive Theatre

This course is designed for students who are serious about acting and eager to expand their performance skills through the art of improvisation. In this intensive class, students will engage in a variety of improv exercises focusing on building quick thinking, spontaneity, creativity, and strong ensemble dynamics. As students master the fundamentals of improv, they will progress to more advanced techniques, including character development, storytelling, and the principles of long-form improv. The culmination of the course will be a live performance that combines interactive theatre elements with the skills developed in long-form improv. About the Class
This advanced theatre performance course invites actors to delve into the creative process of adapting David Levithan’s acclaimed novel, Every Day, into an original stage play. Designed for serious and experienced young actors, this course will focus on the unique challenges of bringing a literary work to life through collaborative play development. Through a series of workshops, students will engage in improvisation, scene creation, and character development exercises, using the novel’s premise of a protagonist who inhabits a different body each day as a springboard for exploring identity, empathy, and human connection. Guided by the instructor, students will learn the fundamentals of playwriting and dramaturgy, contributing to the scriptwriting process as they workshop scenes and develop dialogue. The class will culminate in a performance of the developed scenes, showcasing the students' work from concept to final production. This course is perfect for advanced actors who are passionate about storytelling and eager to push the boundaries of their craft.
Broadway Dance

About the Class
Come dance along with your fellow ICDT! peers in our beginner/intermediate dance class! Learn basic dance terminology and skills in a fun and inclusive environment. Each week you will learn new choreography, work on the foundations of dance, and get to experience the joy of storytelling through movement. Broadway dance covers a variety of styles from jazz to tap, ballet to musical theatre, and more!

Come learn the importance of an ensemble as we work together on musical numbers from popular shows like High School Musical, Grease, Hairspray, and more! With a focus on singing, this class will grow your vocal confidence through working on large group musical numbers. You will also learn movement to songs, and have opportunities for solos, duets, and trios!

Join us for a joyful family caroling class! Perfect for singers of all skill levels, this fun and festive experience will teach you classic holiday songs and harmonies. Gather with friends and family to spread cheer through music, learn tips for great vocal techniques, and enjoy the spirit of the season together. No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a love for singing! Our carolers are invited to sing on the evening of December 20th!

About the Class
Families, drop off your young movers and shakers! This class is the perfect introduction to all things music, theatre, and the arts. In this class we'll discover ways our bodies can move in response to the music. Exciting musical games, rhythm work, and storytelling will be featured to help your kiddos develop creativity, listening skills, coordination, and more! We'll explore stretching, yoga, focused breathing, and musicals too!
*Children must be potty trained to attend or in a pull up. We recommend that parents stay in the center for the duration of the class if your child is not fully potty trained*

About the Class
Come be a part of ICDT!’s first Spring Showcase which will perform at the Village Theatre on May 3rd! This is a fun and inclusive performance based class that fosters an environment of collaboration and creativity to create a fully original musical revue, culminating in our first ever show with live accompaniment performed at the Village Theatre! Not only will this class give students the opportunity to learn and grow in their knowledge and understanding of theatre, blocking, and choreography, but it will allow for growth musically as we learn about the basics of sheet music and working with an accompanist. This class will cater to all levels of experience, and is the perfect opportunity for students who want to continue growing in their craft, as well as those who want to try it out for the first time!
*Please make sure you can attend the performances at the Village Theatre on May 3rd before enrolling!
Technical Theatre

About the Class
This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the exciting world of technical theatre! Join Courtney and gain an understanding of the various departments within a theatrical production, such as sound, lighting, and set. In class, you will get to participate in the preparation for our ICDT! Productions like making props, set dressing, and finding music. Courtney will also offer backstage tech crew opportunities for hands-on experience outside of class! This class is not only great for beginners, but those who want to delve deeper into the world of technical theatre as well.

About the Class
Families, drop off your Tiny Tappers for an exciting, fun time! This class is the perfect introduction to tap dance while concentrating on the development of coordination, balance and the teachings of the basic tap skills suitable for young performers. Although structured, our Tiny Tappers will enjoy the gratification associated with learning rhythmic patterns with their peers.
